Shelia understands that buying a home is one of the biggest decisions you will ever make, and she takes that responsibility very seriously. She will listen to you and help you find what YOU WANT, not what she wants to sell you. Shelia’s motto is: “I’ll Work Harder for You Than You Will for Yourself.”
Shelia has gone the EXTRA mile to educate herself in Real Estate. She earned her ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative), GRI (Graduate Real Estate Institute) designations, and she is an Associate Broker. She also works to stay abreast of current technology in order to serve her clients more efficiently.
Shelia’s husband, Dave Swaim, (who is also a Realtor) served many years in the Army’s 3rd ID. Shelia successfully home-schooled all 3 of her children from K-12 and it’s an accomplishment of which she is very proud. Shelia is a musician and actually travelled for several years playing an upright bass and singing backup in a contemporary bluegrass band. She is an avid sports fan, plays golf, loves camping and fishing……and she’s the ultimate host.
Shelia’s goal is much more than a single sale; Shelia wants to be your realtor for life!
Dave Swaim grew up in the Madison County area and attended Madison County High School when it was located in the City of Gurley. While there he excelled in both basketball and baseball but chose to serve our country in the U.S. Military rather than accept any of the numerous scholarships offered to him in sports after high school.
Dave has served in many duties with the military including as the Protocol Officer for the Commanding General at Fort Benjamin Harrison and as the NCOIC of the Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) with the 3rd Infantry Division while serving in Germany.
Dave has been a Realtor since June 2008, and hit the ground running with Real Estate by taking the disciplines he acquired in the Army and converting his work ethics to Real Estate, specifically becoming the expert in assisting For Sale By Owners (FSBO) in selling their home and moving on to their next home. Dave works with all buyers and sellers to assist in educating them about the home buying and selling process.
His 15 years with the U. S. Army has enabled him to relate to all of the situations and requirements of a military family move including the buying and selling of a home through all aspects of the military life. Knowing that most military families have a small window of opportunity to make their move, Dave goes to work immediately for them to make the transition as smooth as possible, even within the normal 10 day house hunting trips.
After leaving the military with 15 years of service, Dave operated many businesses of his own and managed many retail stores looking for the “career” he could work in and love, so that it didn’t seem like work. He has found that with Real Estate and is excited to be a partner with his wife Shelia in developing a very strong team within the RE/MAX Family.
Brenda Gaston has been a Realtor for 18 years. She worked on the mortgage side of real estate for 1 year. She is extremely dedicated to making the buying and selling process an enjoyable one! In Brenda’s words: “I get the greatest joy out of watching first time home buyers get the keys to their new home!”
Brenda is an incredible mother of 4 beautiful children and has 3 very special grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and one on the way! She loves to sew, crochet, cook and spend time with her family! Brenda is an avid SEC Football Fan!!! I am so glad to have her on my team and more importantly, as a very good friend!
In Brenda’s words: “I’m proud to be a part of the Shelia Swaim Team to help make dreams come true. One of the biggest dreams in life is being a homeowner. The Shelia Swaim Team works hard so you can achieve your dream! Let us work for you today!”
My family and I relocated to North Alabama from Alexandria, Virginia in July 2011 as part of the ARMY BRAC. We now live in a lovely brick home in Madison. I have been married for six years to my lovely wife. We also have a wonderful daughter who recently graduated from high school.
We are tremendously proud of her accomplishments! I am currently working on Redstone Arsenal for the Department of the Army. It has always been my dream to sell Real Estate. I am pleased to be afforded the opportunity to pursue those passions as a part of the Shelia Swaim Team at RE/MAX Alliance. I have a particular eye for attractive landscapes and spend free time landscaping my own property. I have great ideas I can share on landscape design for properties you are looking to buy or sell. In addition, I also enjoy relaxing by the pool with my family and friends.
I look forward to assisting my community with their housing needs and consider myself fortunate to have been entrusted with your business.
